Earlier this afternoon, a resident reported smoke coming from the ground at the entrance of 11618 Ivystone Court.

Fairfax Fire Department identified an underground fire caused by an electric cable  and isolated the area.

Dominion Energy is now on Woodwinds property working to replace the damaged electrical cable and anticipate on working overnight to complete this work.

Based on information provided by Dominion Energy, Power will be out in almost all of the garden- style condos for residents residing at  11612-11620 Ivystone Ct. from this evening til the work is complete – which they anticipate to be in the early hours of tomorrow morning.

Dominion will also temporarily cut the power to the rest of the community in the early AM ( no time frame available) for a short duration of time to complete the underground cable restoration work.
